Tips!! What should you know when looking for a job?

During your job search, you should avoid having a generic CV and cover letter. It is important to make the necessary adjustments for each application, taking into consideration the job description and key data of the company offering it.

By conducting thorough research and analysis about the company, you effectively showcase your genuine interest and commitment. While these efforts may require significant time and energy, it’s essential to view job searching as a job in itself. This approach allows you to be more selective in your applications, enabling you to submit fewer, high-quality, and tailored applications. This strategy increases the likelihood that your application will be noticed and considered, as opposed to sending a larger volume of applications that may be less relevant to the positions you seek.

Now, what to do in your job search:

  • Identify what sector and type of company you would like to work for.
  • Determine the strategy to use for the active search:
    • Establish a realistic goal of CVs sent per day or week.
    • The search channel: calls to companies, spontaneous applications, offers published on job portals, and job fairs.
  • Analyze the job offers and consider keywords with your experience and skills.
  • Include it in your CV and cover letter.
  • Ideally, the CV should be written on one or two pages, however, this can vary up to a maximum of three pages, due to your experience, the job offered, and the company’s requirements. Remember! It is not necessary to include all your professional experience and focus on what is requested in the job offer.
  • It is important that it is brief and precise, including essential information and sections.
  • Clean up the information published on your social networks; this can have a contradictory impact when selecting the candidate.

You will be able to find many templates and use the one that best suits you and gives you results.
